The Dayara Bugyal trek in Uttarakhand is a mesmerizing and
popular trekking destination situated in the Garhwal region
of the Indian Himalayas. "Bugyal" refers to high-altitude
meadows, and Dayara Bugyal is renowned for its vast, lush
green meadows that are surrounded by snow-capped peaks
and dense forests. This trek offers breathtaking views,
serene landscapes, and a chance to experience the raw
beauty of nature.
The trek usually starts from a village called Barsu, located at an elevation of around 7,800 feet (2,378 meters). From Barsu, trekkers ascend through dense oak and rhododendron forests, gradually gaining altitude. The trail is relatively gentle and suitable for beginners, making it a popular choice among both novice and experienced trekkers.
As you climb higher, the dense forests give way to sprawling meadows. Dayara Bugyal unfolds itself at an
altitude of approximately 11,500 feet (3,505 meters), offering panoramic views of the snow-covered peaks of the Gangotri and Yamunotri ranges. The meadows stretch over vast expanses and present a picturesque
setting, particularly during the spring and summer months when they are adorned with colorful alpine flowers.
You have to reach Raithal either from Dehradun or Rishikesh. From Raithal onwards, you will be meeting our trek guides and hence forth you will be moving forward in the trek with them.
