The Dodital Darwa Trek in Uttarakhand, India, is a captivating
journey that takes you through some of the most breathtaking
landscapes in the region. The trek starts from the village of
Sangam Chatti and follows a moderate-level trail, making it
accessible to both seasoned trekkers and beginners.
As you ascend through dense forests of oak, rhododendron,
and deodar trees, the trail unveils stunning vistas of valleys,
meadows, and glistening streams. One of the highlights of the
trek is reaching Dodital Lake, a crystal-clear freshwater lake nestled amidst the pristine surroundings. The lake is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha according to Hindu mythology.
From Dodital, the trail continues to Darwa Top, offering panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. The sight of the majestic Bandarpunch and Swargarohini peaks is truly awe-inspiring. Throughout the trek, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty, encounter the local flora and fauna, and experience the rich culture of the region.
The best time to embark on the Dodital Darwa Trek is from May to October when the weather is pleasant and the trails are in good condition.
You have to reach Naga base camp (NALD) either from Dehradun or Rishikesh. From Naga base onwards, you will be meeting our trek guides and hence forth you will be moving forward in the trek with them.
